In recent years, influencer marketing has become an effective way for brands to reach their target audience and increase brand awareness. With the rise of social media platforms such as TikTok, influencers have become even more powerful in promoting products and services.

As more and more people are spending time on social media, brands are increasingly turning to influencer marketing to tap into the potential of these platforms. TikTok, in particular, has emerged as a popular platform for influencer marketing due to its large user base and the platform's emphasis on short-form video content. In this blog post, we will explore how Nivea, Airtel, and Boomplay successfully utilized influencer marketing on TikTok to reach their target audience and achieve their marketing objectives.

Here are three examples of successful influencer campaigns that were executed on TikTok.

  1. Nivea Fav Piece

Nivea wanted to re-introduce their brand to the Kenyan market and increase product knowledge among the youth demographic. Wowzi was hired to launch the #NiveaFavPiece influencer marketing campaign on TikTok. We hired 10 budding TikTok influencers to share a variety of different Nivea products using TikTok's most effective and magical viral ingredients: sounds, transitions, and dances. The influencers were given creative freedom to align their videos with their personal brand and audience, essentially “making it their own.” The campaign garnered 1.7M+ views for the duration of the campaign, resulting in a 17.42% engagement rate.

  1. Airtel Browse Kama Bazu

Airtel wanted to create awareness of their new Bazu bundles and establish the product as the value bundle connecting it to the roll-out of high-speed 4G network countrywide. Wowzi curated TikTok budding influencers who are popular for dance and skits/memes content to start the #BrowseKamaBazu Challenge on TikTok by sharing their understanding of Bazu and tie it to how the bundles make their browsing flexible. The top-tier content creators promoted Airtel's Browse Kama Bazu through captivating content that showed audiences how their bundles are making browsing easy. The campaign garnered over 4.1M reach and an engagement rate of 18.8%.

  1. BoomPlay Mwanga TikTok

Boomplay wanted to create awareness for Everlyne Wanjiku's new album Mwanga and highlight Boomplay's support of the artist. Our team curated and vetted top-tier influencers who created meaningful, fun, and exciting content aligned with a targeted age demographic of 18-34 years old. The chosen influencers for the campaign demonstrated proficiency in high-quality content, relatability, and authenticity in relaying the brand's message in a way that resonated with the target demographics. The influencers promoted the #MwangaOnBoomplay campaign and showed how amazing the album is by using song and dance challenges on TikTok. The campaign produced high-quality, influencer-captured UGC that was positioned so that the audience felt the need to participate in the challenge. The campaign performed exponentially well with analytics coming in at over 7.48% engagement rate and over 250,000 reach on a period of 25 days.

In conclusion, these successful TikTok influencer marketing campaigns are proof of how effective TikTok can be as a platform to create awareness, increase product knowledge, and promote engagement with the target audience. By carefully curating influencers, aligning content with their personal brand, and encouraging user-generated content, brands can create fun and engaging campaigns that result in high engagement and increased brand awareness.
